Humidity: Obtaining the Perfect Moisture Level

HumidityHumidity can be a drag, but even more importantly, humidity can have a big impact on the quality of the air within your house and your home comfort levels. The United States Environmental Protection Agency encourages families to sustain proper humidity levels, saying it is an important and simple way that you can improve your indoor air quality.

As it turns out, you have control.

The best thing to do is to intergrate a whole-house humidifier and dehumidifier system. Humidity levels ranging from 35% and 50% are the best for comfort, experts say. But if you want an environment that’s free from microbes and that won’t damage wood, the humidity levels should be kept between 45% and 50%. Humidity should be balanced properly to keep you home at the right amount.

  • This humidity control chart shows how different types of humidifiers impact the features availableHigher Levels of Moisture – Air may feel stuffy and warmer than the actual temperature within your home and can provide the ideal basis for the growth of bacteria and other pollutants.
  • Lower Levels of Moisture – Your body may react by suffering from dry skin, sore throats and respiratory issues. Dry air can also harm your wooden home furnishings, such as floors, paneling and furniture.

Our experts have a complete offering of quality equipment, and combined with our expert advice and knowledge, will help you maintain proper humidity levels, relax comfortably in your home and breathe easier.
