The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Field Support Office in Plano, TX was honored to give more than 320 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano, TX.
“Last fall, I had the chance to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a vital part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. Minnie’s doesn’t just provide free, healthy meals to families in need, they also hold classes to teach families how to utilize the food they receive to make nutritious, long-lasting meals. They also offer resume assistance along with budgeting and job classes to help people get back on their feet.
Because around 50 pounds of food is given to each family to last them a month, Service Experts was able to feed six families for the month.
“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for them, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
